MPH Student Stories
One of the objectives of this project is to explore the techniques of storytelling as a powerful means for critical reflection and individual self discovery as well as to learn the planning and production skills that go into digital storytelling.

The images on the left are links to the stories individual members of the class produced to learn the skills they would then pass on to teens in the community tech center at Codman Square. You will need Real Player to view these stories. Download it for free here.

Our digital storytelling process was as follows:

  • Create and write a personal story
  • Share story with group, receive feedback, and revise story
  • Find Images
    • Personal photos
    • Internet via Google
    • Digital camera
  • Edit images using Adobe PhotoShop
  • Create storyboard using Story Board Pro
  • Record voice
  • Edit audio using Sound Forge
    • add music and sound effects if desired
  • Combine images, video clips and sounds in
    Adobe Premiere/Windows Movie Maker
  • Export movie files (.mov) for disc and streaming files (.rm) for Internet
