Urban Environmental Health is a project-based course that examines key environmental health
hazards in inner cities of the United States, including lead, pesticides, and hazardous waste. Students partner with community groups on primary prevention and organization projects including
lead soil phytoremediation, transportation, and pollution prevention. Projects incorporate a variety of
new technologies
to enable students to link innovative resources with ongoing issues. In this
interactive project we invite you to explore how Department of Environmental Health combines innovative teaching strategies to enrich student experiences while making a real difference in the lives and health of our urban neighbors.
