PURPOSE AND CONTENT

The purpose of this session is to give participants time to work in country groups to develop the outline of a proposal which they will be able to present to the group on the last day of the course.

OBJECTIVES

By the end of this session participants will be able to:

1. Outline a problem faced in their country

2. List and select interventions to address the problem

3. Design a study to assess the intervention

4. Define outcome variables

5. Plan the analysis of data

6. Prepare a chart to display results

7. Prepare a Gantt chart

8. Prepare a budget

9. Make a presentation

 

PREPARATION

The last 2 weeks have been preparation for this session.

The purpose of this session is for you to work in a group to produce an intervention proposal that can be presented to other course members.

 

ACTIVITY

Country Presentation Worksheet

Based on the discussions concerning intervention selection and the points raised in this course, design a simple intervention to improve drug use. Answer the following questions:
