SUGGESTED COMMITTEES AND COMMITTEE TASKS

The participant committees help carry out several important workshop functions and increase the participants' investment in the workshop. Trainers have formed four kinds of committees: Administration, Social, After Hours, and Evaluation. A trainer is generally assigned as a liaison with each committee, helping them carry out their tasks. The following tasks are those identified by one group of participants; others may want to add or change these tasks.

Administration: Suggested Tasks

Give daily information on happenings both inside and outside the workshop venue.

Meet administration and logistics needs of participants, working with Administration staff through the liaison trainer.

At the end of every day, ensure that the training hall is neat and that anything left there is in order.

Support the norms set on the first day.

SOCIAL COMMITTEE: Suggested tasks

Plan social activities in liaison with the after-hours committee.

See to the welfare of the participants; report ill health or other problems to the liaison trainer.

Help maintain the ground rules of the workshop among participants.

AFTER HOURS COMMITTEE: SUGGESTED TASKS

Prepare a program of non-social activities in liaison with the social committee.

Invite participants to present information about their experiences at these evening sessions.

Organize video showings when requested.

EVALUATION COMMITTEE: SUGGESTED TASKS

Compile the daily evaluations and present the results to the participants and trainers.

Give a brief report of the previous day's activities.
